"Work sets you free" - if there was was one thing that the Nazi party did well, then it was creating catchy slogan posters for your office - they also did the "Hang on in there" one with the cat on a branch.

Sometimes it's hard trying to write a semi-humourous monthly blog when it's based upon poking fun at current events... especially in a month that's featured both a civil war & a natural disaster.

Some things are just pretty hard to joke about.

But just because something's hard, it doesn't mean that you should give in though (mamma Warro didn't raise no quitter). Anyway the whole tsunami thing hasn't been in the news for at least a day now, so I'm guessing its no longer "too soon"...

So Comic Relief has been and gone for another year, not that it ever leaves me feeling comically relieved - I'm always just left feeling depressed & slightly mis-sold. Lenny Henry got all emotional touring the slums of  Africa - and he knows what he's talking about if he says that conditions are bad somewhere, afterall he stays in Travel Lodges for a living.

Libya's having a tough time of it at the moment, really we should be pleased that Gadafi has started making use of all the guns we've given him - its the equivalent of wearing the jumper your Nan knitted you for Christmas...

And finally, to show that there is no good news in the world, we move on to Japan. Just as they'd finished getting things straight after the last Godzilla incident they not only have a tsunami, but also a nuclear disaster. Somehow I don't think the guys in downtown Hiroshima are comforted by the "Shit Happens" poster they bought back in 1945.

I suppose the only thing I can think of on a good news front is the fact that I got to eat a whole 20oz steak this week, which thinking about it was probably bad news for the cow.

Ah well, I'm off to see a psychic next week - with a bit of luck there'll be a hot young blonde somewhere on the horizon (well that'd be good news for me anyway, so long as they're not danish & called Sven!) - tough luck rest of the world!

G'nice weekend all!
